The Plymouth Top 100 Cottage Name Countdown

The Plymouth Top 100 Cottage Name Countdown

Cottage Names 95 to 91

Cottage names are part of our housing heritage. They carry stories of the past, reflect their surroundings, and still spark the imagination of buyers today.

With the help of our friends at Denton House Research, who analysed Land Registry data from the last 10 years, together we have uncovered the Top 100 most popular cottage names in the UK. Alongside the ranking, we have also looked at the average sale price.

Here are the second five in our Top 100 countdown as we look at 95th to 91st place:

  • 95th - White Cottage
  • 94th - West Cottage
  • 93rd - Prospect Cottage
  • 92nd - Manor Farm Cottage
  • 91st - Bramley Cottage

Next week, we will continue with positions 90th to 86th, and we will carry on weekly until we reveal the UK’s number one cottage name in 19 weeks’ time!

Tag your friends who live in a cottage, so they can find out where they are on the Countdown.

You are not there yet, but when an offer does come in and you accept it, the process that follows can feel like a bit of a mystery if you have not been through it recently. There is a lot of terminology and a fair few moving parts between that exciting moment and actually completing on your sale.

In early 2023, property forecasters predicted a significant UK housing downturn over the next two years, citing rising interest rates following Liz Truss's departure.

Choosing an estate agent is one of those decisions that is hard to evaluate properly until you are already in the middle of the process. You can read reviews, ask for recommendations, and sit through valuations, but you only really find out what working with someone is like once your home is on the market and the weeks start ticking by.

Over the past 25 years, the average UK home has increased in value from £77,950 to £270,259. That is a gain of £192,309. Broken down, that works out at roughly £140 per week, created simply by owning a home.
